TRACKING PROJECT

For this project we were asked to track movement. The inspiration for my project is based off of a stars exhibit at the Scottish National Gallery in Edinburgh. Inspired by the placings of stars was really interesting and was obviously there for specific reasons, and are carefully placed. I thought that the way that constellations were identified would be a great way to demonstrate the tracking of movement in an elegant way.

I used star points as a position of someones movement. I sat in Starbucks to do this at two of the busiest times of day, lunch time and around three o'clock. I thought there would be a lot more people traffic at these times, meaning there would be more spots. I drew a diagram of the layout of the coffee shop to show where people stood and gathered. The points that are joined together are areas that people commonly moved back and forward at. 

I was really pleased with the final outcome of this piece and thought it came together well. It had a simple outlook to it with the basic background and white dots for the stars.
